Most of us know that drinking and driving is a heinous thing to do. Drinking and computing, though? A little bit of a gray area.

I guess that’s why Intel just released a chip that can apparently be powered by wine.

Or it’s a marketing stunt to show off the efficiency of the chips.

We see these articles all the time in the automobile industry: cars that run on garbage, urine, insect carapaces. It’s always a stunt, so it’s interesting to see this stunt pulled in the computer industry.

But, hopefully, it’s not just empty PR like with the cars. More efficient chips should mean better battery life, and that’s the big void in the realm of computer innovation.

Yeah, it’s a realm.
